Major Winter Storm Expected to Hit Sudbury

Early forecast is for 6 to 8 inches from Saturday night through Monday.

Get out your shovels and check your snow blowers ... meteorologists are saying we are in line for the season's first big snowstorm. According to weather.com, the storm will develop near northern North Carolina on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, then head northeast toward New England. Eleanor Vallier-Talbot, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Taunton, said Sudbury could see snow as early as Saturday night. "The thinking is the (storm) might go near the Cape," she said. "The forecast is going for 6 to 8 inches of snow, starting Saturday night through Monday evening." Vallier-Talbot said the heaviest snow is expected to hit Sunday night into midday Monday, then taper off. Winds are also expected to become strong …
