An Old-Fashioned Holiday at the Hosmer House

Open house scheduled for five days in December.

(EDITOR'S NOTE: The following was submitted by Andrea Roessler.) The Sudbury Historical Commission invites you to its annual Holiday Open House at the Historic Hosmer House in Sudbury Center. This 1793 treasure of a house will be open to the public on Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, Wednesday evening, Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16 from 10 am to 4 p.m. Admission is free. The overall theme this year is “An Old Fashioned Holiday” with 11 different rooms each decorated with its own festive theme to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Sudbury Jeweler Sets Up Shop at The Wayland Depot

The Wayland Depot offers an array of holiday gifts ... all for a good cause.

The Wayland Depot is open for business this holiday season and could be just the thing for that unique gift with the added bonus of funding a good cause with each purchase. The Wayland Depot has been around for more than 30 years as a charitable organization that strives to "help support women in their homes who make handcrafts and to donate the proceeds of the sale of those handcrafts to charity," according to the shop's mission statement. The gift store stocks everything from handcrafted scarves and jewelry to bowls and home decor. What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving in Sudbury

Here's a breakdown of which businesses are open this holiday.

Restaurants, bars: Some will be open. Check for special hours. Convenience stores: Many are open, check for special hours Supermarkets: Closed Retail stores: Most are closed, some are opening tonight with special pre-Black Friday sales. Liquor stores: Closed City, Town, State and Federal offices and facilities are closed: This includes schools, libraries and the Postal Service. Only emergency services are available. Except in the case of city, town, state and federal offices, many establishments in the categories listed above will reopen on Friday, Nov. 23. In addition, the Postal Service will resume mail delivery on Friday, Nov. 23. Other government offices will reopen on Monday, Nov. 26.
