Watertown RMV Worker Busted For Bribery, Corruption

The RMV worker will appear in court on Nov. 16.

An employee of the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Watertown was arrested on Nov. 16 on charges of bribery and corruption, according to federal immigration authorities. Adriana Ferreira will appear in Suffolk Superior Court later today on charges of bribery, corruption and larceny, according the federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agency.  Ferreira, a naturalized U.S. citizen was arrested by State Police detecetives and ICE agents in Watertown.  Authorities believe she was defrauding illegal immigrants by offerring them a driver's license in exchange for $2,000, according to ICE. Accumulating Snow Expected Tonight

More wintry weather forecast for the weekend.

Sudbury and surrounding communities can expect another round of snow Thursday night, but residents should expect light accumulation. According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are expected to start Thursday night. An inch or two of accumulation is forecast. Because of the recent cold weather, the NWS says residents should prepare for roads becoming slippery. The region was blanketed with about 2 inches of snow on Monday, just the second snow event of the season. There is a stronger chance of accumulating snow on Saturday. According to the NWS, the exact track of Saturday's storm is uncertain. If enough warm air seeps in, a mix of rain and snow is also possible. Accumulating Snow Possible Wednesday Night

National Weather Service says a winter weather advisory may be needed.

An approaching storm from the Southwest, along with a rush of cold air from the North, may combine to give the region its first snow accumulation since October on Wednesday night, the National Weather Service says. According to the NWS, there is a moderate to high probability that a winter weather advisory will be needed late Wednesday night into Thursday for accumulating snow and/or ice. The track is the approaching storm is still uncertain, but the NWS says confidence of wintry precipitation is increasing. A winter weather advisory is issued for a combination of snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain. Advisories, in general, are issued for weather conditions that are expected to cause significant inconveniences and may be hazardous. These …
