Harris Sparks Warriors Football Team to First Win of the Season

The junior scores two touchdowns in a 14-7 victory over Marshfield.

Two big passes were just what the Lincoln-Sudbury football team needed. The second, a late touchdown pass from quarterback Matt Cahill to John Harris, would give the Warriors the lead and help seal a 14-7 home victory over Marshfield High in the rain. "Our offense played well and threw the ball positively," said L-S head coach Thomas Lopez. "Both teams played hard and we got a couple breaks at the end." With less than six minutes left and the game tied at 7-all, the Warriors would drive the ball down to Marshfield's 14-yard line. Warriors Expect a Physical Marshfield

Lincoln-Sudbury High is facing one of its toughest opponents when it plays the defending Division 2A champs at home on Thursday.

Some of the Lincoln-Sudbury football players and head coach described Marshfield High the same way – physical. For this reason, the Warriors (0-1) know they are facing one of their toughest opponents when they play the defending Division 2A champions at home on Thursday. "They are as good as anybody we are going to play," said L-S head football coach Thomas Lopez. "We better bring our A-game with us." Marshfield, which beat Masconomet, 13-12, in last year's Division 2A championship, has been to the title game four years in a row. The Rams (1-0) are returning six defensive starters from that championship team. "They are an outstanding program," said Lopez. "They are tough kids who are pretty physical."
