Registrar Says Internet is Critical to RMV's Future
The Registry has moved many transactions to its Web site in an effort to reduce waiting times at branches.
The Internet is key to the future of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles said Registrar and Watertown-resident Rachel Kaprielian. On-line use has already improved the waiting times at RMV branches, and improvements to technology should make the RMV's on-line system even better, Kaprielian said Monday at the monthly St. James Armenian Church Men's Club dinner in Watertown. She also discussed the controversial move of no longer mailing out license-expiration notices to Bay State drivers. The Registry is moving more and more to on-line transactions, with an incresase of 40 percent last year.
