The New England Patriots cheerleaders will hold an open audition for the 2013 squad tomorrow, Saturday, March 2. Women who are at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED are invited to audition. The auditions will take place in Gillette Stadium’s Dana Farber Field House. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Candidates will perform two designated routines and a freestyle combination. They will be judged on dance ability, showmanship, overall appearance and level of physical fitness. Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian recently lost a bet over the AFC Championship game.
Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian followed through on a promise and delivered New England Clam Chowder to the Waltham-based REACH Beyond Domestic Violence on Tuesday, Jan. 29. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Koutoujian, who lives in Waltham, delivered the chowder to the domestic violence assistance organization to pay off the bet he made with Baltimore Sheriff John Anderson over the outcome of the AFC Championship football game during which the New England Patriots lost to the Baltimore Ravens. The chowder will go to domestic violence victims. “REACH is an organization with whom I have had a long affiliation. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers are Super Bowl-bound.
If you're a New England fan, you still might be shaking your head following the Patriots loss Sunday to the Baltimore Ravens in the American Football Conference championship game. With the win, the Ravens advance to Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3 and take on the National Football Conference champ San Francisco 49ers. The Patriots are on a bye week but there is still a lot of football action this weekend. Find out where to catch games in the Sudbury area.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are back in the playoffs and will be in search of their fourth Super Bowl championship since 2002. The Patriots clinched a playoff spot and ended the season with a 12-4 record. Also, thanks to their Dec. 10 win over the Houston Texans (also a 12-4 team), the Pats earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs. While there will not be a Patriots game this weekend, there will still be plenty of action. It's also a good chance to watch the upcoming competition. Patriots President Jonathan Kraft told media Sunday The Kraft Group and his family will donate $25,000 to those affected by the Newtown tragedy.
New England Patriots President Jonathan Kraft told 98.5 The Sports Hub Sunday the Kraft family and Kraft Group will be donating $25,000 to help those affected by last Friday’s shooting in Newtown, Conn., that took the lives of 26 people, including 20 elementary school children. “Your heart just sinks and you get nauseous and you never would expect anything like that would ever happen [in Newtown] … it’s just horrible,” Jonathan Kraft said.… “Our family [and] the Kraft Group donated some money and we encourage other people who are in a position to do that to do it.” Friday’s tragedy hit close to the Kraft family because of a box company they own in Newtown with a factory less than two miles from Sandy Hook Elementary School. “We’ve run a …

Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School played host for the Wayland Boosters/New England Patriots charity basketball game on Thursday. The Wayland All-Stars, which consisted of high school faculty, students and Wayland community members, laced up their hightops with Joe Andruzzi, Brandon Tate, Jermaine Cunningham, Pierre Woods and Benjarvis Green-Ellis. The Patriots signed autographs for fans at halftime. Wayland won the game, 68-62.
