Not Really a Fair Trade Newton Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Beacon Street. According to police reports, the vehicle's owner said he parked his Subaru station wagon in the driveway the night before, leaving the doors unlocked and the keys under the driver's side floor mat. The Music Was Not Loud Enough ... A Burlington man was arrested on May 5 after he allegedly drove under the influence of alcohol and fell asleep behind the wheel of his car in Newton Corner. According to Newton Police reports, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Washington Street and Centre Street for reports of a male party asleep behind the wheel of a red Mercedes. When officers arrived, they found the car stopped at the traffic signal, just before the on-ramp to the Mass Pike. Reports said the driver was asleep behind the wheel with the doors locked and loud music playing. The vehicle was running and in neutral. Whatever Happened to Plain Old Arm-Wrestling? An argument between co-workers at Russo's market in Watertown escalated and one of the men found himself taken into custody by Watertown Police. One man challenged the other to a fight, and the other man responded by pulling out a knife. Digging Yourself in Deeper A Watertown man got into even deeper legal trouble at a Boston courthouse when he reportedly paid his court fees with counterfeit money. Dude, Where's My Car? A woman in Needham on March 23 had an argument with her boyfriend early one morning, and wanted her car returned home. The man driving the car had legal authority to drive the car, so she didn't want to report it stolen. Everyone agreed he would return the car in the morning. Good Thing the Dog Needed to Go Out A Wayland dog walker arrived at her client's Main Street home Monday, March 18, to find a strange pickup truck in the driveway and an unknown man in the client's home. Police say the dog walker spoke with the man, assuming he was supposed to be there, but also aware that he was "trying to get her out of the house quickly," police said. That afternoon the homeowner discovered that a water jug containing $500 or more of loose change was missing and two basement windows had been broken. Don't Drink and Drive, Especially into a Police Cruiser On March 6, as a police cruiser was overseeing a detail on Rte. 9 Eastbound with a National Grid crew. The officer and cruiser were behind a cone cordon on the work site, when another vehicle drove into the cordoned-off area and into the police cruiser. Both the driver and the officer were transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
