Phil: Expect an Early Spring

The groundhog from Punxsutawney did not see his shadow today, signifying an end to winter.

Put away the shovels and snow blowers and break out the garden tools — spring is here! "Punxsutawney Phil," the Pennsylvania groundhog, emerged from his dwelling at Gobbler's Knob Saturday morning and he did not see his shadow. "And so ye faithful, there is no shadow to see, an early Spring for you and me," proclaimed Bob Roberts, one of Phil's handlers. According to folklore, if the groundhog emerges from its burrow and see its shadow, then six more weeks of winter weather is on the way. Since that didn't happen today, spring is expected to come early. Punxsutawney Phil and His Love of the Spring Real Estate Market

The Spring Market is right around the corner.

In the true spirit of all things Valentine, I dedicate this article to my new friend, Punxsutawney Phil. My fondness for this creature is completely superficial. It is only based on the fact that our dear Punxy P. has predicted an early spring that I feel such admiration. As someone who isn't a big fan of flowers on Valentines Day because they are so expected and a bit cliché, I more so appreciate the unexpected. While living in the winter from the arctic, it was such a nice surprise to hear that Punxy P. feels the same way as the majority of us do, and would like to move on to the next season – sooner rather than later.
