DISCUSSION: Have You Had Enough of Winter Yet?

Will this weekend's storm bring you to your breaking point?

It almost feels as if we are reliving the 2010-11 winter season, when every other week featured a big snowstorm. Although the first half of this winter was relatively quiet, February has reminded us we are still weeks away until the start of spring. This weekend will mark the third straight with a snowstorm strong enough to dump plowable snow in Sudbury. Are you at your boiling point? Do you hope you don't see another flake until December? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. And remember ... according to that Pennsylvania creature, spring was supposed to come early.

Winter Storm Nemo Is Coming; Plan to Come Home Early Friday

Here's the latest on how you need to prepare for Winter Storm Nemo in Sudbury.

Looks like Nemo is going to find us ... (Come on, you knew we couldn't get through this storm without at least one Pixar reference). As the day of Winter Storm Nemo's arrival draws closer, the forecasts aren't getting any less hairy. Looking at a couple of accumulation maps reveals that 16 inches for the Sudbury area appears to be the bare minimum. Eighteen inches minimum actually shows up on more maps, and the maximum numbers are at 2 feet or more. Fox 25 meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz told Patch via a tweet that he'd recommend people head home by 3 p.m. Friday ("to be safe"), especially if they plan to use the T. If you drive to and from work, plan to be home around noon, Fox 25 Meteorologist Shiri Spear said on a morning newscast. …

Police: Snowy Roads Cause School Buses to Get Stuck

SPS, L-S open despite slippery conditions.

Despite a winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service, parents and students had to work their way through 3 to 4 inches of snow this morning as both Sudbury Public Schools and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School opted not to use a snow day today. The Sudbury Police Department reported nine accidents as of 9 a.m., along with some disabled motor vehicles and at least three buses that got stuck going up hills. "It's not the worst I've ever seen but not the best, either," Lt. Robert Grady said. "The highway department had trouble getting out today." The winter weather advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. with total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches expected. Neighboring Marlborough Public Schools is closed for the day. Do you …

Please...we don't want to become one of those towns where they have a snow day every time a flake of snow falls (or worse yet--as soon as they forecast snow. Not that I want to put our kids at risk if it's really bad. People have jobs to get to! I left at 7:30 and thought the roads were fine. But, I'm not from New England!   more ›
