Two accidents occurred on Boston Post Road on April 25. The first was reported at 6:43 a.m. after a car hit a tree near the Marlborough line. The driver was taken to Marlborough Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second accident occurred just before 4:15 p.m., when two cars collided on Boston Post Road near the Shaws plaza. Two people had minor injuries, and one driver was taken to Emerson Hospital for treatment. Also on April 25, a Sudbury resident reported fraud. The resident, trying to rent a beach house, received a check in the mail for more than agreed upon, said Sudbury Police Lt. Scott Nix. The sender asked the resident to send back the difference, which the resident recognized as a scam and alerted police to.

A Connecticut man was arrested in Sudbury on Friday, April 20, around 4:26 p.m. after a car was reported stolen, police said. Shawn D. Lussier, 36, of Saint James Row, Danielson, Conn., was charged with using a motor vehicle without authority after police say he took his girlfriend's car without permission, said Sudbury Police Lt. Scott Nix. Further investigation led to Lussier also being charged with domestic assault and battery, Nix said.

Braintree man found, thanks to help from homeowner's stolen iPad.
It's a new twist on an old crime: a suspect turns himself in after being "located," thanks to a signal from a stolen iPad. Jamie Johnson, the Braintree man Sudbury police believe was involved in a house break-in last week on Old Lancaster Road, has turned himself in at the Sudbury Police Department. Sudbury editor Rob Fucci is on the scene and will file video shortly on Sudbury Patch.

One person was life flighted with non-life threatening injuries.
A head-on collision Saturday morning on Boston Post Road sent one person to the hospital via Medflight with non-life threatening injuries. Sudbury Police said a car and small truck collided late this morning near Acapulco's. One person had to be extracted, but the injuries are not life-threatening. There were no passengers in either vehicle, and the road is now open.

Sudbury police say water department is fixing a well; water not dangerous.
Sudbury resident Stacey Bernstein emailed Sudbury Patch Monday evening to report the water in her house was running brown. According to Sudbury Police Sgt. John Harris, the Sudbury Water Department is fixing a well, which may be the cause to the brown water. "It's routine maintenance," Harris said. "If you run the water it should clear." A call to the water department was picked up by an answering machine stating it was closed for Columbus Day. "The brown water isn't palatable to drink," Harris said, "but it's not dangerous."

Person sustained minor head injuries.
The Sudbury police and fire departments were dispatched to Fox Run Road Wednesday morning after receiving calls that a person fell off a roof. According to Fire Chief Bill Miles, the injuries didn't sound too serious. "He was working on some staging when he fell," Miles said. "He hit the porch roof below and then the ground." Miles said it was not known what type of work was being done on the roof. Police Lt. Scott Nix said the man suffered minor, non-life-threatening head injuries. According to a scanner report, the accident occurred at 51 Fox Run Road at about 11:20 a.m. The cause of the fall was not known. No other information was available.

A two-car accident Monday afternoon in Sudbury resulted in one person being injured. According to the Sudbury Police Department, a woman was transferred to Emerson Hospital in Concord for minor injuries sustained in the accident that occurred at 7:47 a.m. on Mossman Road. The woman was released later in the day, Sudbury police said, and one of the cars had to be towed. No other information was available. On Sunday, the Sudbury police and fire departments were called to Sudbury Volvo on Boston Post Road after receiving 911 calls about a car fire. According to Asst. Joint communication system to be housed at Police Department by July 1.
As part of a state mandate to streamline 911 procedures and improve response time and public safety, Sudbury will combine its police and fire dispatch centers, with an ultimate goal of housing the joint center at the police station by July 1, as required by the mandate. Both Sudbury Police Chief Rick Glavin and Fire Chief Bill Miles outlined plans for the joint dispatch center at Tuesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting, as part of an effort by the Board to “get a handle on (different) projects scheduled this year so (we) can prioritize what needs to get done in Sudbury,” said Board Chair Larry O’Brien. Sudbury residents contacted police to report several instances of vandalism on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and Thursday, Aug. 11, police said. The first incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Warren Road, the window of a car was shattered. However, upon investigation, police said they were unable to detect any signs of foul play. Early on Thursday morning, a resident on Indian Ridge Road reported a mailbox had been struck and damaged by an unidentified car. Later that day, a Pinewood Avenue resident also alerted police that a car had been keyed while it was parked on the side of the road. These events remain under investigation.
