Regardless of the real estate market – whether it is Sudbury, West Hartford, Conn., or Dunwoody, Ga. — the houses that sell in the shortest period of time are those with the least amount of clutter. Clutter could be defined as excessive paperwork, clothing, tchotchkes, children’s artwork, collections, wall decor – it doesn’t necessarily mean “mess.”  For the most part, buyers (forgive me buyers, but this is true) have very little imagination and cannot easily envision what it would be like to live in a home that is overloaded with other people’s stuff. Your house has more to offer than a great personality.

We have all heard it or said it before, when either introducing or being introduced to a potential mate who may not be known for their strikingly good looks, the first thing that is said is, “He/She has a great personality.” Translation – “he or she is not attractive.”   Well, although looks are not the most feature about a mate or a house, they are important.
