ReplyHow is a field of 5 candidates down from a field of 6 candidates a "one on one match up"? Is there any politician that makes any sense any more? Thank you for dropping out because you do not make much sense at all. Can the rest of the "insiders" drop out now please. Sudbury is in dire need of fresh ideas, fresh candidates and less of the Lavender crowd.

Rick,
You are on a social network site and commenting right now. What is so different about Sudbury Vision or any other on line group? I am not sure what your comment is about. Also, what is the "human side" of Lincoln not wanting to pay back in 2006 and now want access as if they did pay? I don't see the "human side" of this. It is more of a business transaction.

ReplyLeonard, thank you for running. It would be helpful to understand your position on School Consolidation, the sewer project, the police station, and whether you would let the public speak at board of selectmen meetings if you were chairman. Sudbury has really lost the confidence of the taxpayers over the past few years. Gaining that trust back is essential to a better Sudbury.

On the announcement It's Time to Level the Playing Field...Vote Yes!

ReplyI am all for having a nice field. However, I have a serious problem with this field only being 6 years old and now has to be completely renovated? What happened when this was originally built? Who is accountable for the short life of the field? Is there any recourse to who built the field from the beginning. I guess if this field was properly constructed 6 years ago we would not even be having this discussion.
I will vote NO until someone has some answers as to what happened and why.
Also, why do we need to spend $800,000 to replace the turf football field?
Seems like we are spending an awful lot of money that we shouldn't have to.

Soft costs seem excessive. Project manager $150,000? Furniture $120,000??
Radio Console $130,000?? This total project is over $500 per square foot to build. I think it is time to sharpen the pencil. McMansions in Sudbury cost half as much per square foot to build. -

ReplyWith technology the way it is (Ipads, Smartphones, Cellular PCs) shouldn't we be looking at less bricks and mortar since the technology enables police officers to essentially have a mobile office? The police station should really only be for walk ins and for lockups. Why aren't we exploring less square footage instead of more. Police no longer need desks and computers at a police station. Just a thought.

ReplyIt really is amazing. This should not be necessary. How many times do the people of Sudbury have to say they want this? O'Brien and Drobinski were publicly against this from the beginning regardless of what the people want or voted for. This is just makes it more apparent why we need to expand the board to five.

Mr. Woodard,
Your position is, they wanted 7% and the law says 2.5% so you thought it WAS OK to just say the town will go for 4.5%? Please step out of the race. We do not need more people in government thinking they know what the elected people want. It is not your position to "NEGOTIATE" with taxpayer money. Teachers and Admin should have been fired immediately! That is what the peoople decided. We know the Lavender crowd decided otherwise, but that was not the vote of the people. Totally irresponsible.
